Looking from the Outside In: Camper Perspectives

Come Volunteer!

We always speak highly about the awesome volunteers that spend a week with us throughout the year, but...

have you ever wondered what our volunteers have to say about their time at Camp Restore Detroit?

In words form our volunteers...

“Getting to serve at Camp Restore Detroit was one of the best decisions of my life. CRD is an incredible organization that not only serves the physical needs of its city, but also invests deeply in the hearts and souls of Detroit’s people. Through Camp Restore, I learned that making an impact begins with the simple decision to be the change you want to see in the world. I discovered that with my own two hands, I can create meaningful change—one street at a time. The power to make a difference is within all of us, and sometimes, it’s the smallest actions that have the greatest ripple effect. The impact of their work is seen in every project, every person served, and every life touched. Though Detroit may seem to have little, its people have so much more: unshakable faith, boundless love, and a steadfast belief in their ability to rebuild and overcome. CRD’s mission is a beautiful reflection of God's grace, made visible through acts of love and service in every corner of Detroit's remarkable community. Their work is not just about rebuilding homes, but about restoring hope, faith, unity, and most importantly sharing the love of Jesus. Camp Restore Detroit will forever have a piece of my heart, and I cannot wait to return and give back to a place that has already given so much to its community.”

“The staff and community volunteers at Camp Restore Detroit have such a passion and love for their city unlike any other community I’ve seen. When people like me see a broken community, CRD sees a place where they can help create opportunities for children to learn, community to gather, and families to live. CRD has really changed my life!

“We did a lot of hard work, but we also had a lot of fun doing it. We got to bond with each other, help others, grow in our relationship with God, make a difference in people's lives, and experience something new. I made so many memories and a lot of close friendships from Camp Restore Detroit, and I would love to go back some day."

Our campers can testify: we work together in our community to bring real, genuine impact to our neighbors. Our volunteers and campers get to experience this with us in person.

Will you be the next to bring volunteers to learn, grow, serve, and share God's love all at once?
