Camp Restore Detroit

Safer. Resilient. Revitalized.

8 of 12 blessings we are celebrating!

Safer. Resilient. Revitalized.

Safer. Resilient. Revitalized. This is the story we want our community to be known for. We are striving to be a place where families are excited to raise children, opportunities exist, and people love to visit.

With 1,000+ hours of radio patrol and over 800 efforts to clear illegal activity reported, we are well on our way.

Radio patrol is showing our neighborhoods that our community cares every time we patrol. Our community patrol, operating out of Camp Restore’s Campus, consists of neighbors patrolling our streets. These neighbors have been trained by police. The cars have a recognizable magnet on the car door, a flashing light on top of the car, and a radio to call in to base at Camp Restore. Each team of patrollers is determined to be the eyes and ears of our community, searching for issues that pose safety or quality of life concerns. Once identified, the issue is immediately reported. If the issue is not immediately taken care of, the same issue will be called in daily until It has been rectified. We have been incredibly excited to see many issues in our community resolved because of the efforts of our patrol.

Not only has the radio patrol been instrumental in our 68% neighborhood crime reduction, but voids in our community are now filled that once seemed impossible. Radio Patrol Members assist with street crossings at an elementary school, filling the role of crossing guards. While doing this, they have identified youth in need of coats and reached out to our larger team to collect winter gear for the kids.

Even though we are only in our first year of patrol, we’ve been acknowledged as the No. 1 patrol in the city for reporting issues, with over 800 reports made in just over 1,000 hours of patrol. This has resulted in removing broken down vehicles, finding stolen vehicles, roads being repaved, boarding up unsafe houses, and cleaning up illegal dumping in our community. Many neighbors report about the pride felt when the radio patrol rolls past their house. We are helping reduce crime and increase hope and moral.

YOU are an instrumental part of reducing crime in our neighborhood. Thank you for your support as we work towards a safer, resilient, and revitalized community where we love to raise families, opportunities exist, and people love visiting! Click here, give now.
